1. Product Overview
2104B2131 is the medium-range receiver component of Honeywell Searchline Excel open-path infrared gas detection system, designed for 40–120m linear monitoring distance, certified ATEX IIC T6 for Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive hazardous industrial sites. It operates paired with a dedicated medium-range IR transmitter to form a complete line-of-sight gas monitoring system, continuously detecting combustible hydrocarbon vapors including methane, ethane, propane, ethylene, methanol and ethanol across wide plant areas. The receiver captures modulated collimated infrared beams emitted by the matched transmitter, computes gas cloud concentration based on light absorption loss, and converts measurement values into standard source-mode 4–20mA analog loop signal for seamless transmission to Honeywell Experion PKS DCS, third-party PLC or gas alarm panels. The unit supports maximum loop resistance up to 600Ω, compatible with all mainstream process control monitoring systems without extra signal conversion modules. Advanced optical self-compensation technology automatically offsets ±0.5° installation angular misalignment and slow lens dust accumulation, drastically extending maintenance calibration cycles and reducing regular on-site inspection workload. The optical lens adopts intelligent anti-condensation heating control to eliminate fogging, icing and snow blockage under low-temperature outdoor working conditions. Built-in comprehensive real-time self-diagnosis continuously monitors beam signal strength, lens fouling degree, internal circuit health and power supply fluctuation. Fault status is simultaneously transmitted via the 4–20mA loop and displayed through multi-color front panel LED lights for fast visual troubleshooting without handheld testing tools. The whole unit adopts solid electropolished 316 stainless steel flameproof housing with IP66 ingress protection, fully resistant to heavy rain, salt spray, corrosive chemical vapor and industrial vibration. Built-in dynamic temperature and pressure compensation ensures stable, repeatable measurement accuracy under variable site atmospheric conditions. Warm-up time is less than 5 minutes for basic operational readiness, with full precision stabilization within 60 minutes after power-on. This medium-range receiver is critical spare sensing hardware for petrochemical refineries, offshore oil & gas platforms, combined cycle power plant gas fuel yards and chemical reactor hazardous zones, widely used for system renovation, damaged receiver replacement and annual safety inspection maintenance.
